For over 25 years, I have dedicated my life to exploring, understanding, and sharing the natural world through birds—guiding across some of the most remote and biodiverse regions on Earth.

My journey began since I remember. I was always attracted by the natural world and I grew up immersing myself in nature looking for birds, frogs, insects…everything! In the early 1990s I had the unique opportunity to go to the Tambopata rainforest of southeastern Peru, where I lived and worked immersed in one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet.

One day, while walking through the forest, I stopped as a haunting and beautiful song echoed through the trees. It was the call of a Musician Wren. That moment changed everything.

What started as curiosity became a lifelong pursuit.

I spent several years living in Tambopata, contributing to early conservation efforts—including what would later become the Tambopata Macaw Project—while developing my skills as a field naturalist and birding guide. Those years shaped not only my career, but my understanding of how deeply connected birds are to the ecosystems they inhabit.

Over the past two decades, my work has taken me across six continents as an expedition naturalist, birding guide, and lecturer.

I have led and supported expeditions throughout the Amazon and Andes, Patagonia, the Falklands and South Georgia, Antarctica, the Arctic, Indonesia and Wallacea, Australia, the Caribbean, and North America.

Working in these diverse environments has given me a global perspective on biodiversity, biogeography, and conservation—while reinforcing the importance of local ecosystems and cultural knowledge.

My work combines deep field experience with scientific understanding and interpretive storytelling.

I specialize in bird identification by vocalization—a critical skill in tropical environments—allowing guests to experience a much richer and more complete picture of biodiversity.

I also design and lead high-end wildlife expeditions, train and mentor local guides, and develop ecotourism experiences that connect people to nature in meaningful ways.

Currently, I am completing a Master’s degree in Ecotourism, focusing on evaluating the birding and conservation value of landscapes, particularly in private and emerging destinations.
